Our Food Philosophy

At Well Seasoned Catering we believe that quality produce should not hide behind overly complicated dishes, but rather, with a little bit of attention and finesse, shine in its own right. A modest and humble approach was taken when designing our menu selector for our clients.

We love our clients to know that the dishes they choose for their event will be beautifully prepared and presented by us and thoroughly enjoyed by their guests in a relaxed, carefree environment.

Meet the Chef

Jonathan grew up in South Africa and after completing his apprenticeship at the prestigious NH Lord Charles Hotel and quickly climbing the ranks to Head chef within the Southern Sun Hotel Group, gained broad experience within the dining scene in some of the best restaurants of his homeland, covering a range of high-end fine dining and fast paced restaurants. After a brief stint in the UK, he returned home and opened Delaire Graff Lodges and Spa and Indochine Restaurant, a South African Top 20 restaurant.

After arriving in Australia in 2013, he worked his way around the Hunter Valley and Newcastle where he was at the helm of restaurants such as Margan, Esca Restaurant at Bimbadgen, Vincent Street Kitchen and Bar, while collecting numerous accolades along the way.

His approach to food and ingredients is all about respecting the produce and allowing it to speak for itself. He enjoys cooking honest, humble dishes, and his love for Asian food has certainly influenced his menus for many years.
